On Saturday, September 6, the Collectivité territoriale's Service de la vie associative is organizing its Forum des associations. The event will be held in front of the Wall House Museum and the Hôtel de la Collectivité, from 4 to 7 pm.
Thirty-three sports, cultural, environmental, humanitarian and other associations will be taking part in the Forum. The Comité territorial olympique et sportif (CTOS) and the Drajes (Délégation régionale académique à la jeunesse, à l'engagement et aux sports) will also be present.
The general public is invited to come and discover some of the activities on offer on the island. The Forum is an opportunity to talk to association managers and volunteers, as well as to sign up for one or more activities. As practitioners and also, for those most involved, as volunteers. They are never in short supply. The cancellation of certain events for lack of organizing "manpower" is proof of this.
For the associations department, the Forum will also be an ideal opportunity to talk to the heads of the various structures present. "We'll be taking advantage of the opportunity to get closer to the associations, to get to know them better, listen to their needs and provide them with better support," stresses Magali Maxor, head of the department.
At the Forum, visitors will also be able to attend demonstrations (martial arts, music, archery, etc.), discover new associations (Vking Phoenix Rider, Cat society, Kung Fu Thieulam Mamphaï or Saint-Barth île d'art) and take part in initiations. They will also be able to refresh themselves at the refreshment bar, which will be manned by the Barracudas rugby team.
Finally, before setting off, participants will be able to take the directory of associations with them. Please note that the free special issue of the Journal de Saint-Barth devoted to associations, which lists all the contact details, schedules and disciplines of the organizations present on the island, will be published in September.
