Handi Color - A great Sunday walk!

This Sunday, January 19, the "Handi Color" walk organized by the Handi-Relais association is expected to draw a record crowd. Indeed, at the sales points set up since Sunday January 5 in Gustavia, Saint-Jean and Lorient, the association's volunteers have managed to sell out their 500 "walker packs" (colored glasses and colored powder). As a result, the colorful procession that will set off from the Saint-Jean stadium at 7 a.m. on Sunday promises to be impressive.
In 2024, the association had planned to sell 300 "packs". In the end, almost 400 people took part in the event. This year, Handi-Relais had therefore thought big. Clearly, not enough! After the last pack was sold, the requests continued to pour in. This is good news for the organization, which aims to "play down disability and highlight differences" through this friendly, festive event.
The walk will start from the Saint-Jean stadium parking lot at 7am. Participants, all colors out, will follow a circuit around the pond before heading for Public and then Gustavia. On arrival, walkers will be offered breakfast.
Thanks to the sale of the "packs", the association was able to raise several thousand euros. This sum will enable the association's volunteers and educators to continue supporting people on the island who need regular assistance. But it will also enable them to organize actions and other events to enable them to escape their daily lives.
