In the office of the Maison des associations in La Pointe, there’s no time for slacking off. While the atmosphere is relaxed, the two directors, Magali Maxor and Virginie Guif, are hard at work putting the finishing touches on preparations for the Forum des associations. “We’re expecting about fifty associations,” says Magali Maxor, noting that 107 organizations (up from 85 in 2025) are registered with the “Maison” and are truly active. “About ten others are waiting to be registered,” adds the organizer. “Not to mention all the professional associations, including restaurateurs, hoteliers, real estate agents, taxi drivers, physical therapists, fishermen, and so on.”
The event is scheduled for this Saturday, September 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the plaza in front of the Wall House Museum and the Territorial Hotel. Organized by the Territorial Collectivity, the event is an opportunity for the public to meet representatives from the island’s nonprofit sector.
“Supporting the Vitality of the Nonprofit Sector”
Whether focused on sports, culture, the environment, social issues, or education, the organizations expected to attend should represent the full range of options available to residents—both children and adults—in Saint Barthélemy. The event has a specific focus as intended by the leaders of the Maison des Associations. “We want to emphasize volunteerism,” explains Magali Maxor. “It’s essential for sustaining the island’s vibrant nonprofit scene.” Indeed, without volunteers, it’s hard to imagine that such a wide range of activities could continue to be offered each year. Associations that go dormant or events that are announced and then canceled are very often the result of a lack of “helping hands.” Magali Maxor emphasizes that her department works with the associations to identify each one’s needs. “We will strive to serve as a bridge between the organizations and potential volunteers,” she insists.
The island’s organizations receive financial support from the Territorial Collectivity every year. In 2026, before any changes that might occur during the year, the total amount of grants awarded to them exceeded 1.5 million euros. This does not include territorial contributions to public institutions and organizations (the Territorial Environmental Agency with 990,000 euros, the Multiprofessional Economic Chamber with over 1.6 million, the Mireille Choisy Middle School with 340,000 euros…), or to school associations (nearly 1.4 million euros), among others.
At the Forum, activities and demonstrations will be offered throughout the late afternoon. In addition, visitors will have access to a refreshment stand and food service.

Launch of the 2027 Grant Application Campaign
The Community Life Department is informing all associations in Saint-Barthélemy that the grant application period for the year 2027 is now open. The application period runs through November 2, 2026, inclusive. Associations wishing to apply for a grant for the year 2027 are invited to prepare their application materials and submit their request by the deadline.
Submission Guidelines
Grant applications must be duly completed and submitted via the Airtable platform, through the space designated for each association.
Please note that any application that is incomplete or submitted outside the application period will not be considered.
Organizations must also submit supporting documentation regarding the use of grants received for the year 2026.
