For the Handi-Relais association, which provides year-round support for people with disabilities on Saint-Barthélemy, every little helps. The initiative taken by two members of the island's Rotary Club, President Axelle Cappelli and Marryl Molina, also known as Nanou, is particularly noteworthy. Under the name of "Les Pipelettes du Rotary", the two women took part in the Femina Adventure. An all-female sporting event which, as the organizers explain, is more than just a raid. "It's a real life experience, where self-transcendence, solidarity, discovery and powerful emotions are intertwined", says the event's website.
For Axelle and Nanou, the aim is to surpass their limits, but above all to support a cause. That of Handi-Relais and its volunteers. Through an online kitty created on the "Leetchi.com" ("On se dépasse pour qu'ils se déplacent"), the two Rotary members are raising money to help the association fund the "Handi-Relais" project.help the association finance the purchase of a vehicle adapted and approved for transporting disabled people. 100% of the funds raised will go to Handi-Relais for the purchase of this vehicle," assures Axelle Cappelli. Every donation, large or small, is another step towards this goal. "
To support this initiative, all you have to do is go to the "Leetchi.com" website, search for the dedicated page and make a donation. On Saturday August 30, nineteen people made their contribution. The kitty currently stands at 1,433 euros.
